Important Phishing Alert

Some members of the credit union have received "phishing" e-mails purporting to be from the NCUA, National Credit Union Administration. These emails are false and fraudulent and are an attempt to get members to disclose confidential account information.

Neither Clarian Federal Credit Union nor the NCUA would ask for this type of information from members. These e-mails should NOT be responded to.

If you have responded to such an e-mail, please contact Clarian Federal Credit Union at (317) 962-8413, the telephone number published on this website, to report the occurrence. You may also report the "phishing" attempt to the NCUA by sending an e-mail to: Phishing@ncua.gov.

To repeat, neither Clarian Federal Credit Union nor the NCUA would request that you disclose account numbers or PIN numbers as a reply to an e-mail.

Clarian Federal Credit union is pleased to announce that we have branched out - literally!!

The Clarian West branch of the credit union is now open for the convenience of all employees who work at the Clarian West Medical Center. The branch is located in Suite 117 of the Professional Building. It is just around the corner from the Gift Shop and the elevator, near the main entrance to the hospital. The telephone number of the credit union branch is 217-3377; FAX number is 217-3378.

Beginning about a year ago, the credit union started investigating the possibility of opening a branch at the Clarian West Medical Center. After all, the credit

union has the Clarian name. In order to serve the needs of Clarian employees well, the credit union needs to be where Clarian employees are. Because people want financial services which are cost-effective, certainly, but which are also convenient. Avon is a long way from the South Campus. In order to serve Clarian employees, the credit union needed to go to them.

And, on May 3, 2005, the Clarian West branch of Clarian Federal Credit Union became a reality. Unlike the traditional bank or credit union branch, the Clarian West branch is on of the "new breed" of banking facilities. Similar to the bank branches which have popped up in many grocery stores, the Clarian West branch is small, compact and 100% functional.

The branch offers members, and non-members for that matter, a full-function automated teller machine (ATM). Since it is separated from the rest of the branch by a dividing wall, the ATM is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Clarian Federal Credit Union is a member of the Star System and the Alliance One network. The Star System means that just about any ATM card can be used at the machine. The alliance One network is a regional network of credit union ATM's which all members of all participating credit unions may use for free. Many of the local credit unions are in the "alliance". Indiana Members, Teachers, Forum, Financial Center and several other credit unions - not to mention Clarian Federal Credit Union - make up Alliance One. Clarian Federal Credit Union members may use any of the ATM's of these other credit unions without a charge and members of those credit unions may use our ATM without a charge.

The branch itself is small and compact. There is a desk and chairs for members and future members to sit down and accomplish numerous banking tasks. If an employee wants to join the credit union, certainly a smart idea, he/she may do so during the open hours Monday through Friday (see Locations & Hours). If someone wants to apply for a loan or discuss our loan services, the credit union employee at the branch is available for that purpose. And, if a member needs to do a transaction that can't be done at the ATM, well, that can be accommodated, too.

Finally, the branch has a self-service, internet banking terminal available for members, too. Of course, there is not charge for using this terminal and it can be used to check account balances, look up paid checks, transfer funds from one account to another, print an account statement, and/or balance the check register. Eventually, members will be able to pay their bills from this terminal as well.

Looking towards the future, Clarian Federal Credit Union is hopeful that it's growth will be linked with the growth of Clarian Health Partners. As more Clarian facilities are added to the already extensive network of health care facilities offered by one of the premiere health care organizations in the nation, the credit union wants to have an appropriate presence wherever there are enough Clarian employees that it makes sense. Sometimes, this may involve a small branch, like the new one at Clarian West; sometimes it may involve just a cash machine. The important concept is that Clarian Federal Credit Union wants to be where Clarian employees are. After all, Clarian employees, and their family members, are the only people the credit union serves.
